Eight members of the MHS Equestrian team did fantastically at the NSEA Grass Roots Championships at Hickstead in August.
We fielded four teams and each team was placed which was no mean feat giving that this was a Championship with big competitive classes. All the children rode beautifully and were a credit to the school. Many thanks to Mr Newton and Mrs Archer who came along to support the children on a very hot and busy day.
The results were as follows:
Our 40cm Team Tara B (Dolly), Eliza F (Bee), Erin C (Mo) and Jack (Honey) were THIRD out of 13 teams and Jack was SECOND overall out of 40 riders!
We fielded two teams in the 50cm class and the MHS Red team Eliza F (Bee), Zoe C (Paddy), Emma G (Gatsby), and Eliza B (Dolly) were FIFTH and the MHS Blue team Jack G (Gatsby), Tara B (Dolly), Annabel J (Beech) and Erin C (Mo) were SEVENTH (both out of 18 teams) and very well done to Annabel J who was SEVENTH out of 42 riders.
Next came the 60cm class and our team of Eliiza B (Dolly), Annabel J (Beech), Zoe (Paddy) and Emma G (Wendy) put in some cracking rounds to finish a fantastic SECOND out of 19 teams!
Now the riders start qualifying for next year's Championships!
Mrs Dipper, Equestrian Team Manager
